The Relationship Show

God loves to show how excellent He is through the excellent relationships of those He's mending and saving.

We're doing a preaching series at the Crown this term called 'Side by Side'; as part of this I was asked to preach on Martha & Mary, a famous duo in the Bible. I did some study and pulled out three key points from the story in Luke 10 v 38-42, points that can help us to have more a Jesus-odour in our relationships with others.

Here's a brief synopsis of the story:

Martha, with excellent motives, overcomplicates her catering and ends up getting stressed; whilst Mary breaks all the cultural rules by sitting at Jesus’ feet. When Martha demands that Jesus send Mary to help her, Jesus’ response is loving, direct and surgical. He tells Martha that only one dish is necessary and that He doesn’t want her and Mary to taken away from Him by the extra work that she has created.

The next three blog posts will be the 3 main relationships points!
